Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion

Sustainable peace is essential for development and stability. In Somalia, prolonged conflict and insecurity have deeply affected social cohesion and community trust.

WICAP promotes inclusive peacebuilding initiatives that empower women as mediators, leaders, and change-makers across Southwest State, Jubaland, Puntland, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and nationwide.

Our Objectives:

Strengthen social cohesion and trust among communities. Promote women’s participation in peace processes. Prevent and mitigate local conflicts, support inclusive dialogue platforms

Our Key Activities:

Community dialogue forums, Women-led peace committees, Conflict resolution training, Youth peace ambassador programs, Civic engagement and reconciliation meetings, Prevention of violent extremism initiatives.

Expected Impact:

Inclusive communities where women and youth contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace and conflict prevention.
